Legend filmmaker K. Raghavendra Rao has lauded Naga Chaitanya’s latest movie ‘Thandel’, calling it an “extraordinary love story” after a long time. The veteran director took to social media to express his admiration for the film’s storytelling, performances, and direction.

“It has been a long time since I watched a love story as beautiful as ‘Thandel.’ Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi delivered stellar performances. Director Chandoo Mondeti has crafted a gripping narrative with an adventurous backdrop. The shot-making and attention to detail are commendable. Congratulations to Geetha Arts for this success. In one word, this is a director’s film!”

‘Thandel’ – A Gripping Tale of Love and Patriotism
‘Thandel’ marks one of the biggest projects in Naga Chaitanya’s career, directed by Chandoo Mondeti of Karthikeya 1 & 2 fame. The film, produced under the Geetha Arts banner by Allu Aravind, features Sai Pallavi in the lead female role. Since its release on February 9, 2025, the movie has been receiving highly positive reviews and is performing well at the box office.
The film’s story revolves around Raju (Naga Chaitanya), a fisherman from Uttarandhra, who, along with his team, travels to Veraval, Gujarat, for fishing. However, during a routine expedition, they unknowingly cross into Pakistani waters, leading to their capture by the Pakistan Coast Guard. The narrative follows Raju’s struggles, his experiences in a Pakistani prison, and his journey back home, blended with elements of romance and patriotism.
